Matt Metcalf hosts ciLiving, Central Illinois' only one-hour local community, lifestyle and entertainment show, weekdays from 4:00-5:00pm on WCIA 3.

"The best part about ciLiving is that we have the opportunity to showcase what makes Central Illinois a unique place to live," says Matt about his experience on the show. "We have special communities, amazing people, great businesses, and dynamic cultural events and institutions. I'm proud to be part of a show that gives them time to tell their stories."

In addition to hosting the show, produces segments for ciLiving about the issues he feels most passionately about: local history, information literacy, and animal welfare.

He previously co-anchored and helped launch "The Morning Show" on WCIA 3, leading the show's online presence and interactivity efforts on what would one day become illinoishomepage.net.

His resume includes work selling commercial advertising and creating promotional marketing campaigns as well as writing and producing broadcast and online content for the NBC and Fox affiliates in Philadelphia. While at Fox, he was a member of the team that launched the MyFoxLocal web sites (Philadelphia), a team honored with the 2009 Edward R. Murrow Award for best television web site for Continuing Coverage of a Philadelphia police beating caught on tape. As Director of Community Management for internet start-up company Nixle, Matt worked directly with the CEO and contributed to projects that improved end-user experience with the company's web-based and mobile products.

Matt holds a Bachelor's degree from the Missouri School of Journalism and is currently pursuing graduate work with a focus on local history research and resources. It was while working on an Undergraduate Certificate from the Bucks Preservation program in Newtown, Penn., that Matt became a rabid historic preservationist, advocating for community projects and later working in the renown Trentoniana Local History Collection at the Trenton (NJ) Free Public Library.

In his spare time, Matt serves as an Illinois Reads Ambassador, volunteers at the Douglas County Museum, and travels frequently to visit our small towns throughout Central Illinois. Most notably, he and his mom tied for first place in the 2014 Arthur Cheese Festival Team Cheese Curling Contest.

Matt is a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), the American Library Association (ALA), and the American Association for State and Local History (AASHL).
