Champaign, Ill. - Wellness Expert, Emily Santanelli, is helping us set ourselves up for success with our New Year's Resolution.
We are all well intentioned. How many diet and exercise plans (i.e. Whole 30) are very strict and regimented. There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself. The problem is we don't reflect first on our life/pace of life/commitments etc to set ourselves up for success. We start something very regimented and "hard core", and we can last a couple weeks...but eventually life happens...we get a cold, snow days, car breaks down, kids have a ton of activities etc. And very quickly our regimented plan goes out the window.
It's a good idea to consider life first...to create space, and margin for your new commitment. Our calendars are so overblown that it's hard to achieve something new. We can also briefly talk about self forgiveness...that falling down doesn't mean "quit", it means learn and get back up!
We are two weeks into January and people may already be starting to fall off the bandwagon. It's okay to give ourselves some grace, and getting up and not quitting when we start to fall off the bandwagon.
one word 365 gives you a different way of looking at New Year's resolutions. You pick one word to define your whole year rather than picking a specific goal.
