SPRINGFIELD -- The legacy of Pillsbury Mills in Springfield is significant. For more than 70 years, the plant employed hundreds of citizens to process raw materials for use in kitchens around Central Illinois and the American Midwest.
Lincoln Library, the public library of Springfield, now hosts an exhibition of materials from its Sangamon Valley Collection that help tell the story of Pillsbury’s impact on Springfield’s economy and culture. Photographs, advertisements, and documents will be on display through June.
