Eggs and Leeks in Garlic Cream with Personal Cook, Adam Wisnewski

Champaign, Ill (WCIA) - Personal Cook, Adam Wisnewski of Breakfast, Life, and Dinner, joins us in the CI Kitchen with an egg dish perfect for dinner this week!

Here's a little more about Adam:

I work in people's homes to give classes, event meals or in-house meal services
    
People light up when I tell them I give cooking classes. Food is life, and everyone would like to know more about the meals they eat: where the ingredients come from, how to prepare the dishes, what flavors go together. There aren't many other businesses in Champaign-Urbana right now that do in-house meals, so that's a fairly unique career and life that captures people's imaginations.

I've been cooking for 40 years and love to share that experience with my students. I think of myself as a tour guide for people who want to explore a new dish, or cuisine or diet plan, but aren't sure how to get started. In my business, I do cooking coaching for small groups and individuals: we can start with the basics, explore new techniques, learn new and healthier recipes from around the world. I help people gain the skills and confidence to make planning, shopping, preparing and cooking an adventure, instead of a chore.

I can also provide in-house meal services: That's where you let someone else do the planning, shopping, prep and cooking for 3 or 5 meals per week plus fresh baked bread and ready-to-eat healthy snacks.

And I love to do personalized event meals: spend an afternoon or evening with friends, learning new kitchen skills over a customized menu and then relaxing over your own delicious cooking. Or, let me do all the cooking and you relax!
    

Eggs and Leeks in Garlic Cream

Ingredients
6 eggs
1 TBS olive oil
1 leek, well rinsed & finely chopped
½ TBS minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup whipping cream
2 TBS butter
Sliced green onion to top
Crusty bread for toast
Meat side dish (optional)


    

I'm a down-to-earth, every-day cook and I want to give people that same daily confidence. I don't think people need the fancy pans, or the expensive ingredients. Cooking for yourself and your family (or even better: together with your family) is something that you can make a little time for each week. It's cheaper and healthier than eating out everyday, and honestly, you can cook up just about anything you like in the same time as you would take to eat out.

I worked with the Champaign Farmer's Market this summer, doing their food demo tent once a month. I love their mission: to support local farmers and food vendors - and to get that amazing food to the general public.

Looking forward to scheduling lots of personalized classes (I make a great Christmas gift!) and I'm also working on hosting some larger classes at a local event center early next year. Stay tuned for more details.
