Great way to add fruit to mealtimes
Salsa is so versatile- can be a wonderful topping on chicken or fish or as a dip with tortilla chips- typically low in calories, lots of flavor and loaded with fresh ingredients
Wonderful way to utilize seasonal produce and try a new mix of flavors
Sweet ‘n Spicy Strawberry Salsa
2 cups fresh strawberries, diced
1 cup avocado, cubed
½ cup red onion, diced
2-4 tablespoons (based on your preference) chopped fresh cilantro
1-2 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced*
Zest and juice of 1 large lime
1-2 garlic cloves, minced
¼ teaspoon salt, or to taste
Pepper, cumin, coriander, garlic powder to taste
2-4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and gently stir together.
