Decatur Organization Helps Birds in Need

DECATUR, ILL - Spring is a busy time at the Illinois Raptor Center in Decatur. It is a season when new birds come in each and every day, each with unique needs.

"That fall and early spring you just don't know what shows up at the door and that's kind of exciting." says Jacques Nuzzo of the Illinois Raptor Center.

The goal of the center is to help birds who have been sick or injured return to their natural environment. Unlike a veterinary clinic, which treats medical issues specifically, the Illinois Raptor Center helps rehabilitate birds after they have received medical care. In addition, it serves as an opportunity to study birds who have come from the wild.
