CHAMPAIGN, Ill - Matt and Heather talk to the Urbana Park District Outreach and Wellness Manager Elsie Hedgpeth about getting back into an exercise routine.
Elsie explains that dynamic stretches, stretches that mimic the movements used in the workout, should be used before the workout and that static stretches, holding a stretch, are better used at the end of the workout. She shows us a few stretches that can help get people ready for exercise: high knees, butt kicks, low side shuffles, burpee walkouts, and push-ups.
