Champaign, ILL -
Travel expert Marcia Frost is sharing some fun vacation spots to keep your family busy during summer vacation.
It's recently named one of the most popular amusement parks in the country, and it's only a four hour drive from Champaign to Santa Claus.
Holiday World and Splashin' Safari are the main attraction and they've done some updates to the amusement park, which offers free parking, drinks, and sunscreen.
There is a great selection of rides in the water parks and theme parks for kids of all ages to enjoy.
There are also really great options for food at the parks. There is a wide selection of carnival food like barbeque, funnel cakes, and cotton candy.
You can stay at Lake Rudolph in one of their Christmas Cabins, which can hold up to eight people.
Air conditioning, televisions, large decks with barbecues, and kitchens are all included in the cabin package.
Some other fun things to do at the parks and on the camp grounds include swimming at the pool, and taking rides at Santa's Stables.
Other places to stop in town include the Santa Claus Museum, the Christmas Store, and Santa's Candy Castle, where you can drink frozen hot chocolate and write letters to Santa.
If you are ready to plan a big family vacation, here's one that will please everyone in your family.
It's just 20 minutes from Cancun airport, but much less city like. Generations Resort is a family resort that has plenty of activities the whole family can do together, from snorkeling to playing in the giant bubble by the kid-friendly swim-up bar.
There are also many things adults can do at its sister resorts right next door. They are adult-only so the grownups can head over to dinner, the spa, or on a Bali bed on the beach and steal away some quiet time. They also have extensive programs for children of all ages, including a Little Eko Chefs program, and next year they will also have a Nickelodeon program filled with activities.
All rooms here are suites, and there's 24-hour room service.
Summer Specials at the Shedd Aquarium
The Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is a world leader when it comes to rescuing, rehabilitating, and breeding marine life.
It's worth planning a few trips down here this summer to see the zebra sharks they've bread, sea lions they've saved, and innovative accomplishments

On Wednesday evenings through September 14th, fireworks and music over Lake Michigan for Jazzin' at the Shedd is offered.
