Champaign, IL - Is cabin fever setting in?
Tobogganing at Pokagon State Park
Pokagon State Park in Northern Indiana has tobogganing in the winter. This was so much fun. I actually went down and had a blast. I took three teens along who kept going on the toboggan runs.
Stay right at the park at the Potawatomi Inn. It’s very reasonable and has two restaurants on the premises. Plan to also eat at 6 Autumns for the best chicken skewers and Mac n Cheese you’ve ever had, and stop by the Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve. You’ll learn all about the history of the buffalo and the Native Americans.

Osthoff Resort for Romance, Family, or Girls Getaway
Head to Elkhart Lake for a resort that has something for everyone. The setting is beautiful and we had a two bedroom suite that had views from every room. There’s great food onsite, especially at Lola’s on the Lake, and just a few blocks away the Elkhart Inn is a great romantic spot with a large meat selection and superb roasted brie.
While at Osthoff, go snowshoeing at the golf course and head to their Aspira Spa. It’s one of the best spas I’ve ever been to. The facilities are fantastic with plenty of relaxing areas – including a room overlooking the lake with a fireplace and Jacuzzi. I had an amazing facial and a Sacred Waters massage.

Welcome to the Champaign Garden Inn
A brand new Bed & Breakfast opened up just a few miles from here on Hill Street. It’s an amazing restored Victorian with beautiful woodwork throughout. Each room is just incredibly decorated and I love the common areas.
Visit their website for more information or call 217-351-9900. They are offering a special romance package for viewers in February:
