PANA -- A veteran has spent his entire life in Our Town.
URBANA -- He served our country and, after the military, has made his life about public service, but this Hometown Hero is trying his luck at a new craft.
CHAMPAIGN -- This week's Our Town was dedicated to America's favorite sports car, the Corvette, but our Hometown Hero got special honors at America's favorite race.
FORSYTH -- More than 13,000 people serve in the Illinois National Guard.
GIFFORD -- An area veteran made it his mission to honor those from Our Town who have served.
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- He fought for our country, but this Hometown Hero says he was an unlikely candidate for the honor.
SAVOY -- Nowadays they tour the U.S. to give people a piece of the past, but for many veterans, seeing the flying fortress back up in the air was more like deja vu.
SAVOY -- He flew his first mission on D-Day. 70 years later, this Hometown Hero got to see a B-17 take to the sky once again.
CHARLESTON -- He was a prisoner of war during World War II. Now, decades later, one Central Illinois Hometown Hero is getting a medal.
URBANA -- He grew up on a farm in Central Illinois, but after traveling overseas to fight for the U.S., this Hometown Hero returned to serve his hometown.

SPRINGFIELD -- His resume and title speak for itself. But, it's his philosophy which has gotten him to the top of Illinois' military command.
DECATUR -- Vietnam veterans got the chance to remember why they served this weekend when one of their own leaders was an honored guest.
