UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- She's served overseas, now this UI student is on a personal mission to put those skills to good use.
EAST PEORIA -- Students at a Central Illinois grade school are doing their part to help veterans in their town.

RANTOUL -- As the Illini practice at Camp Rantoul this week, we've seen some stand-out athletes. But off the field, players say there's one guy who stands out to them.
URBANA -- This Hometown Hero uses his heart and his hands to make other people's lives a little more fun.

CHAMPAIGN -- He lost his sight while fighting overseas, but that's not stopping this Hometown Hero from reaching high ground, and even the big screen.
PETERSBURG -- Two men in Our Town make sure those who've served feel right at home.

ST. JOSEPH -- When you're driving into Our Town, Main Street is filled with signs honoring men and women from the area who are serving our country.

GEORGETOWN -- A kindergarten class at Pinecrest Elementary got to meet the soldier they've been sending cards and care packages to since the beginning of the year.
