ILLINOIS -- A number of Democratic supporters say they're going to back Republican Bruce Rauner for governor. The group held a news conference Thursday in Chicago.

Backers include former Federal Communications Commission Chairman Newton Minow. He's also a long-time Obama supporter.

The 88-year old says something has to be done to get Illinois out of its desperate shape. He believes Rauner can get the job done.
