COLUMBIA, Mo. - Tim Beckman thought he had his new co-defensive coordinator, but Missouri defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski announced Monday afternoon he is staying with the Tigers.
Illinois reportedly offered Kuligowski the job of co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach. He is one of the most well-respected defensive coaches in the country after spending more than a decade on the Missouri staff. Kuligowski released a statement Monday saying he considered the opportunity before ultimately deciding it was best to stay put.
Illinois is still searching for a new defensive line coach and possible co-coordinator after firing Greg Colby earlier this month.
