CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - It was a game worth a hug from his future coach.
Jalen Coleman-Lands scored 17 points in a win Saturday night at Parkland college. He got a little taste of Champaign, playing in front of dozens of Illinois fans. Illinois head coach John Groce was there too for support. He hustled back from the team's loss at Minnesota to catch the second half.
"It was jaw-dropping when I saw him," Coleman-Lands said. "When I glanced over during the game, I saw him smile back. And it's definitely a memory I'm going to cherish for the rest of my life."
