SPRINGFIELD -- Police are warning of a text scam. Messages state your bank card has been deactivated and you need to call a local automated hotline.

It's an attempt by unknown criminals to steal your bank card account numbers for illegal use and is NOT a legitimate warning.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
