Gunman demands money from women

CHAMPAIGN -- Police are investigating a home invasion. It happened Thursday, about 10:30 pm in the 1700-block of Valley Road.

Two women reported being held at gunpoint while a suspect stole cash and ID's. Police say neither woman was hurt.

The suspect rushed the victims while they were sitting on a back patio, forced them inside the apartment and demanded money. When one victim tried to reach for a phone, the suspect pushed her down and told her to give him her driver's license. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'11", weighing between 165-180 lbs. He was wearing a full-face, black ski mask and may have been wearing black Nike shoes. He was also wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and black shorts that may contain red coloring.
