Handicapped woman assaulted & purse stolen

SPRINGFIELD -- A man stole a purse from a handicapped woman after knocking her to the ground outside a store. It happened outside the Hope Thrift Store on South Dirksen Parkway about a month ago in the middle of the afternoon.

The suspect took the purse and got away with cash and credit cards. He ran to a car in the parking lot. He's described as a white man, in his 50's, 5'10", 200 lbs., with gray and brown hair. He was wearing blue jean overalls with a faded blue jean jacket. He was also with a woman in her 50's.
