Jogger attacked in park

SPRINGFIELD -- Police are investigating an attack on a jogger. It happened about 5:50 am, Wednesday, in Timberbrooke Park, in the 2000-block of West Washington.

An unknown black man grabbed the victim from behind, pulled her down an embankment, held her down and hit her in the face. The suspect then fled westbound and got into a small, red car driven by another black man.

Witnesses heard the victim scream. One witness saw the suspect flee. The suspect is described as being about 6', with a thin build and "clean looking." He was wearing light-colored clothing.
