Pet taken in dog-napping

SPRINGFIELD -- Police are investigating a dog-napping. It happened July 25, about 10:15 pm, at McDonald's, in the 900-block of North Grand East.

The victim tied a small dog to a stop sign to go inside the restaurant. A short time later, the suspect untied the dog and pulled him into a small, silver, 4-door, SUV.

The dog is named Loki, he's 25 lbs, fawn-colored with a black muzzle and pink camouflage collar.

The suspect is described as a black woman, about 5'5", 130 - 140 lbs. She was wearing knee-length, knit pants, a dark top and white, hooded-jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
