UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- Security cameras may help solve a recent theft, even though one of the suspects tried to hide his identity. Police say the suspect was with two other men inside the Undergraduate Library Thursday, March 7.
They say all three were seen handling a stolen laptop, charger and textbook. At one point, the suspect looked right at a surveillance camera, then put up his hood to hide his face.
A student reported the items missing after he took a break from studying and went out for a smoke around 11:35 pm. The items were left inside his backpack near a table and were gone when he got back.
Investigators say the suspects were seen in the area. You can see the suspect photos above or click on the video icon.
