Safety experts offer tips to kids

WCIA 3 -- There have been six attempted kidnappings in just over a week in Central Illinois. As of Tuesday August 28th, there have been three reported attempts in Paxton, two in Champaign and one in Monticello.

Parents are looking for ways to help their kids understand what's happening and how to talk to them about it. They're also looking for safety tips their kids can use. Check out these websites for useful information.

WASHINGTON -- As kids go back to school, experts are offering safety tips. They want to remind kids to stay in groups and be aware of their surroundings.

If a stranger approaches you, keep your distance and trust your instincts. If you're scared or feel the situation is bad, then it is. And remember to tell your parents if something unusual happens.
