Suspects sought for theft and fraud

URBANA -- Police are investigating the theft of a purse which was followed by fraudulent activity on the victim's credit and debit cards. The theft happened at the Aldi's Grocery Store, in the 3100-block of East University, Saturday, March 1.

Three suspects are involved and being sought. The victim's cards were used at WalMart, Macy's and Kohl's within hours of the theft.

Several items of clothing were purchased. Some of those were returned to a Macy's store in Orland Park and exchanged for cash.

Police have released surveillance photos of two suspects. One is a black woman, about 20 years old. The second is a black man, with shoulder-length braids. A third suspect is a black man with a shaved head who was wearing metal-framed glasses.
