CHRISMAN -- This Kid to Know makes sure one nursing home is a great place to live in more ways than one. Jacob Lewis is now a freshman at Jamaica High School, but he definitely didn't slack off this summer.

Jacob started volunteering at Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home at the start of summer. Yard work, passing out mail and playing Bingo were just some of his duties. He did it because he needed 40-hours of community service to graduate high school.

But, Jacob loved the experience so much, he racked up almost 80-hours in three months. His reasoning was simple. Even though Jacob has met the graduation requirement, he says he'll keep coming back during winter and spring breaks.
