ILLINOIS -- Lawmakers are getting an earful from citizens on a variety of issues. Tuesday, early childhood education supporters showed up at the Capitol.

They're urging elected officials to protect funding for programs which help kids younger than 5 years old. Advocates also want to avoid funding cuts for home-visiting programs which help low-income families.

Governor Quinn's proposed budget includes increased investments in early childhood education funding, but there's no guarantee the General Assembly will adopt the governor's proposal.
