NATIONAL -- Hundreds of thousands of Americans are outraged over the government shutdown. Many are signing petitions or rallying, demanding Congress get back to work.

In Springfield, a coalition, including MoveOn members, rallied outside Congressman Aaron Schock's (R) office Tuesday. Illinois AFL-CIO joined the movement.

Come Thursday, the Treasury Department says it will run out of borrowing capacity. The coalition says, unless Congress acts within the next 48-hours, the U.S. has a chance of defaulting on debts.
