SPRINGFIELD -- Lincoln's Tomb is getting a facelift, thanks to a capital investment. The historic site will receive more than $630,000 from the state to restore the interior of the tomb and add new lighting.

Parts of the monument are damaged and in need of repair. Workers say the repairs have been needed for awhile. Work will begin December 1, and the tomb will be closed until March. About 350,000 visitors tour the site each year.
