SPRINGFIELD -- Political hopefuls from around the state are gearing up for the March primaries. But, a candidate for one of the state's top spots is out of town until then.

Paul Vallas (D) is Governor Quinn's running mate, but he works at a school in Connecticut. He'll be there right up until the primary.

Critics say, if he wants to be lieutenant governor, he should be in Illinois. But, Governor Quinn has said, it's his experience as a school administrator which makes him right for the job.
