SPRINGFIELD -- The state's special pension committee is expected to reveal its proposal any day now, but several lawmakers may not be on board.

House republicans say they won't vote for a plan which cuts pension benefits. Most of the ideas floated in the committee cut benefits to some extent.

If the plan doesn't have enough republican support, it could take a lot longer to find a solution.

The pension funds are short nearly $100-billion. Without a fix, the state says the number grows by $5-million every day.
