Court collections turned over to feds

SPRINGFIELD -- The federal court in Central Illinois is giving millions back to the government.

The U.S. Attorney for the Central District says his prosecutors collected more than $11-million in criminal and civil cases last year. It includes back taxes and restitution for crimes.

In all, the Justice Department collected more than $8 billion from across the country last year.
