ILLINOIS -- It will be easier for students from other states to get credit for online classes through Illinois' schools. It's called the Higher Education Distance Learning Act. Friday afternoon, Governor Quinn signed the bill at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Illinois' students will also be able to get credit for online courses at other colleges. Last year, the UI had more than 320,000 students from around the world enrolled in online classes. The law goes into effect in January.
