SPRINGFIELD -- Around 30,000 Illinois borrowers will receive relief checks this week. It's part of a national foreclosure settlement.

The checks, which average around $1,480, will be sent to owners who lost homes to foreclosure between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2011. Their loans were serviced by five different mortgage brokers including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase.
