Lawmakers could shorten wait for prescription approval

ILLINOIS -- The wait to get your medication could get shorter. A House proposal will place more responsibility on insurance companies. They would have no more than 72 hours to cover the cost or deny a customer's prescription.

Capitol Healthcare and Rehab, in Springfield, has many residents who need round-the-clock medication. Leaders there say many could benefit from this bill, but it excludes Medicaid and Medicare customers which includes 80% of residents at Capitol Healthcare.
