ILLINOIS -- Lawmakers want to shed more light on the state's high school sports association. A House resolution asks the IHSA to be more transparent and give the public more insight into how it operates. The bill also calls for an evaluation of whether the state should take over duties for the group.
At least one athletic director believes the IHSA is performing just fine. The IHSA is non-profit making it exempt from the Freedom of Information Act and the Open Meeting Act.
