Lawmakers reconsider penalties for misbehaving students
By Kelsey Gibbs | email@example.com
ILLINOIS -- How students are punished could soon change. New legislation is aimed at keeping kids in school instead of sending them home for suspension. The bill would reduce the length of suspension time to no more than ten days. Also, students could only be expelled if they are a threat to their peers or the school. The bill now heads to the full Senate.
