ILLINOIS -- Medical marijuana users can keep their guns. Officials agreed to shoot down part of a proposed bill which would have prevented medical marijuana users from legally owning guns.

The Illinois Department of Public Health had originally included a proposal requiring gun owners to give up their firearms if they used medical marijuana. Hearings will be held in Chicago and Springfield. The Springfield hearing is 9 am, May 21, at UIS.
