SPRINGFIELD -- Lawmakers are getting closer to a potential deal on pension reform. Several members of the Special Committee on Pensions says they're making progress. But, they say the governor's move eliminating their pay had no impact.

They hope to have a piece of legislation ready before Labor Day. Currently, the state owes close to $100 billion to its pension system. Each year, pension payments eat up more and more of the state budget.
