ILLINOIS -- Governor Quinn stands by his decision to make cuts to the 2015 state budget. He slashed $250 million from the spending plan. Several projects and programs will be affected, including renovations at the State Capitol.

He also wants to sell nearly half the state's aircraft. Republicans say it's a step in the right direction when it comes to spending. Right now, the state owns 21 planes and spends more than $7 million a year to maintain them.
