MACON COUNTY -- A state representative is getting ready to present a new bill in Springfield. Bill Mitchell (R) is sponsoring a bill to create jobs in counties with high unemployment rates.

Currently, about ten counties would qualify. He says new employers would save money on workers' compensation for creating jobs.

If they hire five employees, they would get a tax credit. Mitchell is heading to Springfield Wednesday.
