SPRINGFIELD -- The state could soon add more electric cars to its fleet. CMS has signed a contract worth more than $1 million with an electric car dealer in Chicago.

That deal could add more than 60 cars to its collection as part of a plan to provide state agencies with a greener form of transportation. They're coming from Ford, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

Members of the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives say the state will save some other kind of green as well. There might be some drawbacks with electric cars though. Some may be limited to a 60-mile range.
