Taxpayers foot bill for recalling lawmakers

SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois' lawmakers reconvene in the Capitol City Wednesday to debate the state's $97 billion pension crisis. The overtime session will end up costing taxpayers about $40,000 a day.

Each lawmaker receives about $111 a day to pay for their stay. The money is meant to help cut the costs of their lodging and meals. The governor also plans on calling everyone back again in early July.
