Governor Pat Quinn is seeking his second full term in office. On the Democratic primary ticket, he's being challenged by little-known Tio Hardiman.
Hardiman is the former head of a Chicago anti-violence group who was dismissed after being arrested for domestic violence battery. That charge was later dropped.
Quinn became governor in 2009 when Rod Blagojevich was impeached and removed from office. He was narrowly elected to a full term in 2010.
Christie Nicks has more from Chicago on the race.
