Hometown Hero finally receives POW medal

CHARLESTON -- He was a prisoner of war during World War II. Now, decades later, one Central Illinois Hometown Hero is getting a medal.

After nearly 70-years, Sergeant Alva Moss and seven other veterans got their Prisoner of War Medals. They were honored at the Pentagon.

The medals were handed out decades after they were kept at a camp in Switzerland and "treated horribly." They were commended for their bravery.
