SAVOY -- Neighbors say they're relieved police arrested two men behind a rash of burglaries. Authorities say Matthew Hall and Jermaine Johnson robbed at least five different homes, all of them in Savoy and south Champaign.

Arbour Drive is one area hit hard. Investigators say the men took thousands of dollars worth of property from their victims.

The sheriff's office and police department started looking at Hall and Johnson as suspects last week. Officials say that's when five different burglaries were reported.

When search warrants were issued for the men's homes, authorities found firearms and items reported stolen. Neighbors say the area is usually very quiet, but they know times have changed, and that's why they keep an eye out.

The investigation is continuing. There could be more arrests made or more charges filed.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Two men are accused of a string of burglaries in Savoy and southwest Champaign. Matthew Hall, of Champaign, and Jermain Johnson, of Tolono, were arrested Friday.

Investigators developed the two as suspects after five residential burglaries were reported the previous week. Evidence was collected implicating Hall and Johnson, including stolen property from some of the burglaries and several firearms.

Authorities think the 21-year olds may be responsible for more burglaries during the past few months. The investigation continues and officials say there may be more arrests.
