CHAMPAIGN -- Police arrested two men in connection with Monday's drive-by shooting at Fifth and Vine streets. Kyantae Weatherall and Aaron Kirby, both 19 and from Champaign, face charges.

Authorities say suspects in a silver-colored car fired shots at people in a maroon-colored car. Rounds struck a home in the 700-block of North Fifth, but no one was hurt.

Officers found a silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo in an alley in the 400-block of North Third Street and found evidence inside the vehicle consistent with witness reports.

Police say the men were taken into custody after fleeing into a home in the 300-block of East Hill after the shooting. Officials say a handgun was also recovered from the property.

Weatherall was arrested on a warrant for aggravated battery and aggravated discharge of a firearm. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries sustained prior to police contact.

Kirby was arrested for obstructing justice. Authorities say he tried to hide evidence possibly connected to the shooting.

The incident is still under investigation and more suspects may be involved and arrested.
