4 arrested in ongoing meth investigation

EFFINGHAM -- Four people are charged with felonies in an ongoing methamphetamine investigation.

20-year old Cody Laue, of Beecher City, 18-year old Tara Devoe, of Shumway, are both charged with aggravated and simple manufacturing. Authorities say they made the drug in the home of "a person more than 60-years of age who is incapable of adequately providing for his own health and personal care."

Each charge is a Class X felony punishable by between 15 - 60 years in prison. Bail for each is set at $200,000.

38-year old Stacey Beccue, of Altamont, and 23-year old Nathaniel Sparks, of Beecher City are charged with unlawful possession. It's a Class 3 felony punishable by either probation or between 2 - 5 years in prison. Bail for each is set at $25,000.

All four appeared in court Monday after authorities seized materials from a home in the 3800-block of East 2000th Avenue, in rural Shumway.
