The company closed because it couldn't recover from the loss. The judge ordered Freeman to repay the money he stole between August 2003 and January 2011. He also failed to pay taxes on it.
Freeman pleaded guilty in May. The company has been a staple in town for well over 80-years. It employed more than 15 people.
