SPRINGFIELD -- The push is on state lawmakers to approve same-sex marriage. Advocates want to see a vote during the veto session later this month.

The State Senate approved the bill earlier this year. It's waiting on a vote in the House. But since it's the veto session, the bill would not be effective until next June if it did pass. Lawmakers could do it sooner, but the bill would have to go through the Senate again.
