ILLINOIS -- Scammers are trying to take advantage of the new Temporary Visitors Drivers License program. Attorney General Lisa Madigan says you should be wary of anyone offering to help you get a TVDL.

Her office has gotten reports of driving schools telling undocumented workers they can get a "universal license" fast, for $1,000.

Licenses will only be issued at designated Secretary of State facilities. The actual cost of a TVDL is $30. Applicants will get them by mail, about two weeks after they apply.
