Amtrak allows animals during pilot program
By Gary Brode | firstname.lastname@example.org
ILLINOIS -- You don't have to leave your pets at home anymore when you're taking the train. Amtrak is allowing small cats and dogs on the Illini and Saluki trains in the Chicago-Champaign-Carbondale route. You have to register early and it will cost an extra $25. Pets must weigh less than 20 pounds and be in a carrier. Not everybody's on-board with the idea. The pilot program is set to run through April.
