HUDSON -- An area community will pay tribute to a fallen firefighter. Chris Brown was killed in March. He was one of six firefighters hit by a semi-truck while helping stranded drivers in a snow storm.

The community is trying to raise money to send Brown's family to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Maryland. Saturday's benefit will include live music and family activities. Thousands of people are expected to attend.

The Chris Brown Benefit and Tribute will begin at Veteran’s Park with several family activities from 2 - 5 pm. The opening events will include inflatables, concessions, children’s activities and more.

Front Street will be closed for the day as part of the preparation for the Capstone Event, a street party featuring the band Brushville. Gates open at 5:30 pm. The band will play from 8 - 11 pm.
